This may not be the answer you wanted to hear, But extra weight is 95% responsible for fat under the chin. If double chin removal is a cheeseburger, Getting rid of excess body fat is the bun, patty, cheese, lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles, and jaw exercises, Are the sauce. Your body fat % is key.
However, some people may be skeptical of this, And rightfully so.
Some may say, “Jaw muscle is more important,” “Because muscles that are trained,” “Get bigger and stronger,” “And will then fill out the rest of this skin.” Or maybe “Being leaner doesn’t help!” “I’m skinny and I STILL have a double chin.”
Both of these are good questions, so let’s put them to the test.
To isolate the effect of jaw muscle and strength, Let’s look at a segment of the population that has extremely powerful jaws, Relative to the average person.
Immediately, there is one group of people that comes to mind. Know who it is? COMPETITIVE EATERS!
Competitive eating

To achieve the crazy feats in competitive eating, Such as slamming 30 to 70 hotdogs in only 10 minutes, A strong, muscular jaw is a requirement.
So let’s take a look at the mouth athletes in the annual 4th of July hot dog eating contest. There’s mega champion Joey Chestnut. He looks lean, His jaws just as powerful as it looks, And there’s no double chin.
Just look at that bump of muscle on the edge of his cheeks!
Now, look at one-time champion Matt Stonie. He’s lean, Has a great jaw, And there’s no double chin to be found.
But then look at “Nasty” Nate Biller, And Eric “Badlands” Booker.
Both of these guys equally elite mouth muscles, But have double chins and round jaws.

Despite strong jaws between the 4 of them, There’s a clear trend that the heavier dudes have more of a double chin.
Side note: This is not meant to shame people, I’m not making fun of anyone’s appearance I’m just trying to correlate: Having excess body weight with having a double chin, Because That’s the whole point of this article!
Personally, I’m a huge fan of competitive eating, And I have a lot of respect For the athletes I just mentioned.
Now some of you will point out: Joey Chestnut and Nate Biller are pretty much the same size.
How come Chestnut doesn’t have a double chin? I’m glad you asked.
For starters, Chestnut looks a lot LEANER than “Nasty” Nate Biller.
He’s 10 lbs lighter, An inch taller, And has a massive frame. His hips and shoulders are extremely wide.
Biller looks softer at 240 because he has more excess body weight. In other words, Nate Biller, is less lean, than Joey Chestnut.
Lean refers to having little body fat, And it doesn’t necessarily mean skinny.
For instance, There’s a difference between being skinny and looking like this, Vs. being skinny and looking like THIS.

At low levels of body fat, it’s almost impossible to have a double chin. Can you think of someone with both a 6-pack and a double chin? That being said, You don’t need to have a six-pack just to not have a double chin.
For example, I’m about 13-14% body fat, And I no longer have a double chin. However, This number will vary from person to person depending on things like Bone structure and where the body likes to store fat.
That’s why the best advice I can give Is to get leaner, Until the double chin is no longer there.
The next question is then: How do I lose excess body fat?
The simple answer is to eat 500 to 700 calories less than your daily needs, Until the excess fat is gone. You can find your daily calorie needs at tdeecalculator.net. Just make sure to subtract 500 to 700 from the result you get.
Remove empty calories from your diet, Like sodas, Loaded coffees, And flour and potato based snacks. This is just scratching the surface for weight loss, But it is a great place to start!
